Just about the best course in Dallas. Lots of history.

This is a great course but the play is ridiculously slow. Played it 10+ times and have never gotten out in under 5 hours. Most of the time it is closer to 6 hours. Not much golf etiquette from the other golfers either. I truly enjoy the course but the wait makes it almost not worth it. Also, no cart girls so stock up before you head out. I recommend Stevens Park if you want a better experience but not necessarily a better course.‎

Cedar Crest Golf Course / Nice Course / Nice Price: Cedar Crest Golf Course is one of 5 Local Dallas Municipal Golf Courses. This one is about 5 minutes south of downtown dallas so the location is very good if you are coming into town on business or vacation. Cedar Crest was recently redone and some of the added features include a very large natural grass driving range & real nice chipping area. The best part of Old Cedar Crest was the par 3's, now with the new course, they have added to that history. This course now features 6 par 3's. Each are challenging and hold to the courses original roots. The one down side to this course is the surrounding neighborhood and some of its clientel. The area is run down and old. Some of the clients enjoy gambling while they play. This can lead to slow play even if you are playing in the middle of the day. I have been on the course when it didnt seem to be too full but play was real slow....Overall, a nice course, especially for a Muni, nice price and close to downtown dallas.
