We've gone to FLP since our first child was born. All the doctors are fantastic. They take an aggresive approach with any and all illnesses. They also have great human touch - nothing robotic about any of them. They are great listeners and have been nothing less than outstanding and I'm talking about both Dr. Blair and Dr. Straughn - the two our child has gone to.

Our family loves Dr. McGonnell and the staff at Forest Lane Pediatrics! There are always appointments available at the Plano office, and there are sick and well rooms with lots of activities to keep the kids occupied. Dr. McGonnell is intelligent and very personable, taking his time to answer our questions, and thoroughly getting to know our kids so they feel comfortable and so he remembers things about them from appointment to appointment. He has been WONDERFUL! I have seen Dr. Blair a few times, who was highly recommended, but he was curt, blunt, and critical of my daughter and me. Please don't let this reflect upon Dr. McGonnell. He is frequently available and will even talk to you on the phone if there is an emergency.

There are several doctors in this practice and Dr. Blair was recommended to me by a friend of a friend. I saw Dr. Ron Blair for my child and found him to be condescending and quick to criticize without offering much help or suggestions during routine visits. If you are looking for a compassionate physician, he is not the one for you and your child. While in the waiting room, another couple also mentioned to me that some of the other doctors in the practice are a little more 'understanding'. I did see Dr. McGonnell once, and he was pleasant and thoroughly answered my questions. I also do not like their practice of charging for after hours phone calls. They do have clean facilities and a separate sick room which is nice. Just wanted to get this out there and hope others find it useful information. Have others had a similar experience or is it just me?
