Well I thought it would be good
Well I try to keep an open mind to these reviews and want to believe that you can't believe everything you hear, man was I WRONG on this one!

Some friends and I wanted to get together at the end of Valentines day and have a drink, so I heard about this spot from a friend that went. I figured it would be ok since he got in (btw he is a white guy) and had a good time, but I read in reviews that it was not so good for ethnic people. We walked to the door, there was no line, the bouncer stated that we needed to have table reservations and that it was too full. I immediately had an issue with it, but my friends said "Forget it" and we walked away. We decided to go up to the Iron Cactus and I went on the ledge to take in the sights, low and behold I could see the entrance into the club we were just rejected from entering. I saw so many people, all white, get in without any checking at all. I saw this one black guy that basically paid this white lady for him to follow her in the club! Naturally i was appaulled! I thought, I have on nice and trendy clothes, I am attractive, intellegent, and so are my friends, then I knew it was purely racism.

Bouncers please note something for me, your nothing but a DOORMAN, you don't matter! I guess you have to pay your rent in your crappy apartment and beat up car from bribes from ethnic people...wow you should feel good about yourself. We can go anywhere else and have a great time. You should have a backbone and tell the truth why you are turning people away maybe I could respect you more.

Do yourself a favor and take my word for it, I am not a close-minded person I love all types of people, except for IGNORANT ones. The Doormen are IGNORANT and even though they dont matter in the eyes of society, its shameful that we have to experience this blatent display of bigotry. Dont go unless you dont like diversity!

Trendy/High Energy/Great Music= Mantus
This place is awesome. I love that they keep the clientel to a good looking assortment. The bartenders are great and the DJ's are seriously good. I went and there was a guy djing that was the owner. Emil or something. He was on time!! The place has good drinks, great atmosphere and good looking women dancing everywhere. If you want to have fun. GO TO MANTUS. I live downtown and it is becoming a regular spot for me on the weekends.

GET A NEW BOUNCER
Go only if you want to experience racism. When I got there, the guy didn?t even card me to check my age, or checked the ?guest list?, he just let me in. BUT, when my other friends showed up, the bouncer would not let them in. Mind you one of them is an AE with a well know company. The guy would not let him in. So I went upstairs and to talk to the door guy. And he was first like, they?re not on the guest list. I rebutted by saying that you didn?t check me for the guest list, nor did you check my ID. And one of my friends' was like, you didn?t even check to see if I was on the guest list. So he grabbed the clipboard that didn?t even look like a guest list, and ?acted? like he was checking it. THEN, he was like, nope not on the guest list. And then he went to say that we are maxed to capacity. I don?t want to say that it?s racial issue, but I told my friends at this point it?s not even worth it. Don?t even think about paying him to get in. it?s not even that serious. But, the simple fact that after they left I stood by the door, and the CREEP let these guys in WITHOUT CHECKING THE LIST, OR THEIR ID?S. I WAS SO MAD! WHY, because as stated by the last reviewer, they were his friends.

One of the Few Cool Places to Dance in Dallas
Mantus truly is one of the few remaining places to dance in Dallas. The bartenders are attractive and outgoing, the dark atmosphere with the blue lighting is energizing, and the dance music is some of the best in the city! Get there early so that you're guaranteed a spot. I live in Addison and rarely feel the need to venture away from Belt Line Road, however, Mantus is so unique that it's worth the ride downtown. The last time I was there, the owner was hanging out and introducing himself to people all over the bar. That's always a nice touch!
